Hi Everyone, I'm looking for information on Mary Jane savage and the mother of George Arthur Parker who was killed in action during WW2. I have some basic information but very little else. I don't know if there are other siblings etc and would really like a photo of George. I would appreciate any help, thank you

Hi sorry forgot to say. Driffield is the town where the family lived. I posted Mary Jane Savage incase anyone was researching her family. Mary Jane never married Georges father I believe and yes she was born in Wansford 1889. Its a bit of a mystery really what actually happened??

Hi Jules:

There is a Mary Jane Savage buried in Driffield cemetery. She was buried Dec 10, 1941 age 63 years. Could this be the Mary Jane you are looking for?

Cheers
Anne

Hi Anne,
Sounds like the same Mary Jane Savage born in 1889. But the one buried in Driffield Cemetery was 10yrs older so don't think they are the same person?? do you have any more info? I have her parents and I think I have found her on the 1911 census aged 22 but no son George Arthur so where was he? I couldn't find any trace of him age 4??

Hi Jules:

I have Mary Jane Savages as George William Savage adn Sarah Elizabeth Preston. Is that what you have? The other Mary Jane Savage could be the one that was married to my great grandfather.

Where did you find Mary Jane on the 1911 census? I tried looking for her last night and did not have any luck.

George's parents are John Savage and Mary Ann Train.

Hi Anne
I found a Mary Jane Savage listed as a boarder age 22, working as a weaver, born in Driffield. The address was Station Mills, Cottingham, Sculcoates, E. Yorks, with a family headed by a Robert Ernest Donkin, a Worstead Manufacturer. I found the rest of the Savages in Martin Street, Beverley. Did you find them?

Hi Jules:

Thank you for the information. Yes, I have the rest of the family on the 1911 census in Beverley. My dad was born in Driffield so know the area a little bit as we use to go there for our summer holidays.

Going to see if I can have any luck finding George Arthur Parker. Will let you know what I find.
